Shipwrecked! The amazing adventures of louis de rougemont (as told by himself)
Written by Donald Margulies
Performed by the Touchstone Ensemble

Inspired by a true story, Pulitzer prize winner Margulies penned this remarkable tale of Rougemont, an unlikely hero who held Victorian England and the world spellbound for a few months in 1898. Three actors, over twenty-five characters, and a thirty-year journey: in the spirit of Robinson Crusoe and the Odyssey, an evening of adventure and entertainment.

The Eagle Has Landed
Created and performed by Fool's Proof Theatre

Mary Pearson, Bethlehem native and member of the  Liverpool-based ensemble, Fool's Proof Theatre, crosses the big drink with her company to bring us their newest show. A BBC4 reporter goes on a journey to find his brother, missing for 20 years. As he stumbles his way through beautiful and outrageous situations, we delve into memory and the traces of a human life.

The Mammy Project
Created and performed by Michelle Matlock

The Mammy Project uses original music, storytelling and historical speeches by Frederick Douglas and Halle Q. Brown to transform an oppressive stereotype into a celebration of the power we gain from knowing and understanding our history.

Self (the remix)
Written and performed by Robert Farid Karimi, with live soundscapes spun by DJ D Double

National Poetry Slam champion, Robert Karimi, mixes together stories, movement, and music to tell the tale of a first generation child of Iranian and Guatemalan immigrants, struggling to learn about manhood, nationhood, and neighborhood. With the voices and music of his environment helping him along, the sound design is a masterful soundscape of 80’s hip hop, 70’s disco, house music and punk rock.

The Tempest
Written by William Shakespeare, adapted by Touchstone Theatre

Shakespeare's classic tale lands,with a royal entourage, on a mysterious island ruled by a magician and inhabited by supernatural characters. Touchstone opens the gates of play and imagination, allowing the deluge of ideas to flow as the Ensemble develops this original interpretation.

As a compliment to our Main Stage Season, Touchstone's new Village Voices series presents a tasty sampler of new works and classic Valley favorites.

Oct. 17-18: Tales from the Tub, created by Rainbow Geffner - a dramatic fantasy evoking turn-of-the-century France, inspired by post-impressionist painter, Pierre Bonnard, and his life-long model and companion, Marthe. (Tickets: $15/$10)

Nov. 7-8: An Evening at a British Music Hall, produced by Chris Simmons - a mad-cap evening of songs, monologues and comic sketches from the heyday of popular live entertainment in Britain. (Tickets: $15)

Jan. 16-17: Headlong Retreat - singers from the Bach Choir of Bethlehem and the Lehigh Choral Union perform a musical meditation on pilgrimage featuring popular, folk and original music. (Tickets: $15)

Feb. 6-7: Fresh Voices, by the Touchstone Apprentices - original actor-created, ensemble-based works in progress. Always fresh, sometimes provocative, never ordinary. (Tickets: Pay-What-You-Will at the door)

Feb. 27-28: A Couple of Cronies, Touchstone welcomes back former Ensemble Members Cora Hook & Mary Wright in a two-woman show about the perils and joys of facing 50 in the 21st century. (Tickets: $10)
