
Amber Charest
Assistant Education Director
Amber Charest (she/her) is our Assistant Education Director. Her journey with Touchstone began when she moved to the Lehigh Valley to obtain her M.F.A in Performance Creation from Moravian University. A performer and lifelong learner, she is fascinated by how performance serves as a creative tool for the expression and discovery of self and others.
Aside from her work as a Teaching Artist for the Building Bridges and Young Playwrights’ Lab program, her performance accolades include: Moravian Academy’s Roots of Time: The River Tree (Director/Lead Ensemble Creator), 3,000 Fine: Young Playwrights’ Festival ‘25 (Director), Land of the Lockdown, Home of the Active Shooter (Co-writer/Teacher), HeadEye: The Musical (Slippery Sister), Christmas City Follies XXIV and XXV (Ensemble Creator/Cast) and Spit Out The Poison (Asst. Director).
In her hometown, Amber was an Elementary Educator with the Fitchburg Public School District who volunteered her time directing and assistant directing productions at her local community college (12 Angry Jurors; Shakespeare On A Bench). She worked as a resident stage manager for Worcester’s 4th Wall Theatre Company (Awake and Sing, DIRT, Blue Yonder, Photograph 51) and has invested in Fitchburg State University’s Alumni theatre company, Forge Theatre Lab (27, Copley). She studied Latin dance for 2 years with Tumbao Latin Dance and performed with her bachata team, Allegria, at the 2023 Providence Salsa Bachata Festival. She has performed and studied abroad, both in Scotland (Fringe Festival 2015) and Italy (FLIPT Festival; Teatro Potlach’s Citta Invisibili ’24 ), studying Commedia dell’Arte with Claudio De Maglio and Kamigata-mai with Keiin Yoshimura.
